All activities and exhibits are included with admission. Admission is $7 per person; $4 for seniors 65 and up; $4 for active duty military, $4 for students with ID, $4 for children (2-17)/ Children under 23 months and Museum Members are admitted free of charge.

WHERE CAN I PARK?
Parking for the American Airlines CR Smith Museum is available across the street in the Museum’s parking lot free of charge. Parking for those needing assistance is available through the guard gate.

From Dallas: Take Hwy 183 West, then 360 South to Arlington. Take the FAA Road exit. Follow the access road south; turn right at the stop sign. The museum is on the right. Parking is on the left.
From Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (3 miles south): Take the south exit from the airport and follow the 183 West / 360 South curve to the right. Exit at FAA Road and turn right at the stop sign. The museum is on the right. Parking is on the left.
From Fort Worth: Take Hwy 183 East, then 360 South to Arlington. Take the FAA Road exit. Follow the access road south; turn right at the stop sign. The museum is on the right. Parking is on the left.
From the North: Follow Hwy 360 South. Take the Trinity Blvd. exit. Stay in the left lane, go under the highway and stay on the access road northbound to the stop sign at FAA Road. Take a left over Hwy 360. The museum is ahead on the right. Parking is on the left.

ARE FIREARMS, OR WEAPONS OF ANY KIND, ALLOWED IN THE CR SMITH MUSEUM?
No. The Museum is a weapon-free facility. As an educational institution with numerous school and educational groups and activities on Museum property, weapons are prohibited from the property pursuant to Section 46.03 of the Texas Penal Code. Additionally, pursuant to Texas Penal Code Sections 30.06 and 30.07, we have posted legal signage notifying the public that we do not permit concealed or openly-carried handguns in our facility. This applies to all employees, volunteers, guests and vendors.
Commissioned law enforcement officers are permitted to bring duty weapons when visiting the Museum. No other persons are permitted to bring firearms or other weapons on the premises.
Persons who are not commissioned law enforcement officers found to be in possession of weapons will be asked by the Museum security staff to remove the weapon from the premises. The CR Smith Museum will not store weapons or permit them to be stored within the facility.

WHAT CAN MY FAMILY DO AT THE AMERICAN AIRLINES CR SMITH MUSEUM?
There’s something to do for everyone at the Museum! With over 35,000 square feet of interactive exhibits plus the esteemed, 1940’s DC-3 Flagship Knoxville airplane to board, the Museum and its main gallery offers plenty of fun, history and learning. IS THE MUSEUM HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, walkways, exhibits and restrooms are handicap accessible at the Museum. Those requiring assistance may use the complimentary wheelchairs. Visitors wanting to use wheelchairs should visit the Giftshop and leave an ID to check out the wheelchairs which are available in the Visitor’s Lounge. WHAT AGE RANGE IS APPROPRIATE?
The American Airlines CR Smith Museum is for all ages, both the young and young at heart. Each of our exhibits, experiences, activities and programs have been designed to engage a broad range of children’s ages and interests. Please see our exhibits for more information.
HOW LONG DOES A VISIT TAKE?
There is no exact answer to this question. It all depends on the time you’re willing to invest in exploring the numerous informative facets of the aviation story. First-time visitors typically spend two hours. As the official corporate museum of American Airlines, we are your destination for discovery, airline enrichment, education and fun.
WHEN CAN I AVOID CROWDS?
Arrive early when we open at 9 a.m., or at least 2 hours prior to closing. Our busiest times occur on Saturdays, late morning and early afternoon.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR ON A VISIT TO THE MUSEUM?
We ask that visitors dress comfortably, and perhaps bring a lightweight jacket, as the temperatures in the museum are kept cool to ensure exhibit preservation.
CAN WE BRING OUTSIDE FOOD INTO THE MUSEUM? IS FOOD AVAILABLE?
We ask visitors to not bring food or beverages into the Museum. We do have vending machines available in the vendor’s lounge. Please do not eat in the museum, which includes the exhibit galleries, theater, hangar, or on board the DC-3 Airplane. The American Airlines Royal Coachman Cafeteria is located directly across the street from the museum, just beyond the museum parking lot and is open to the public, however, because the Royal Coachman Cafeteria is not affiliated with the museum, we ask that you contact them directly for their menu and additional information: 817-956-6063.
HOW DO I BOOK GROUP RESERVATIONS?

WHAT DOES THE AMERICAN AIRLINES C.R. SMITH MUSEUM DO TO SUPPORT TEACHERS?
The American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum offers field trip programs in which teachers can use to enhance their school curriculum. The Museum workshops and activities led by Museum educators and aligned to TEKS are held throughout the year. HOW DO I DETERMINE DATE AND TIME AVAILABILITY TO BOOK MY GROUP?
To inquire about date/time availability, please submit your information via our Group Visit contact us form or by calling 817-967-1560 option 2 or option 5 during regular business hours.
WHAT IS THE RATE FOR GROUPS AND HOW CAN IT BE OBTAINED?
The $3.00 per person group rate is available for groups of 15 or more people. To obtain the group rate, all groups are to complete and submit the group reservation form and, upon arrival, pay in a single transaction using Credit Card, Cash or Check.
WHEN CAN I MAKE A GROUP RESERVATION?
We book groups on a first come, first serve basis, so as soon as you know your group would like to visit, please contact us. The museum always appreciates advance notice for larger group visits. Groups up to 30 people should plan to make reservations at least 1 week in advance. Groups larger than 60 people should plan to make reservations at least 2 weeks in advance.
WHAT IF OUR GROUP NEEDS AN INVOICE?
When completing the group reservation form, please check the box for requesting an invoice and provide the mailing address where indicated. Upon receipt of your reservation, the museum will reply with a confirmation and an invoice for your visit.
WHAT IF OUR GROUP NEEDS TO WRITE A CHECK?
Checks are to be written out to: CR Smith Museum. If mailing, please mail to: CR Smith Museum – Group Visit, P.O. BOX 619617, MD 808 GSWFA, DFW Airport, TX 75261.
Checks are to be written for the exact amount of purchase.
Checks in excess of the purchase amount will not be issued a cash refund. The organization/business must provide a W-9 for a refund, which will take approximately 6-8 weeks from receipt of the W-9 form.
WHAT RULES SHOULD GROUPS BE AWARE OF WHILE VISITING?
For the safety and enjoyable experience of all museum patrons and to ensure the preservation of all exhibits, we ask that all groups adhere to the Museum Rules, Guidelines and Information found on page two of the Group Reservation Form. Group members are to 1). Use indoor voices, 2). Must not run or climb 3). Must not act in a boisterous manner, 4). Must not abuse exhibits 5). Must not play in the revolving doors 6). Must not block isles, entries or exits 7). Must not sit or climb on outside planters or exhibits. 8). Be courteous to other patrons.
Completing and submitting the group reservation form affirms the groups’ understanding of the museum rules.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH GROUP ADMISSION?
Full access to the museum, including day programs/activities, special exhibits, movie and much more are included with the group’s admission. Please reference the Group Reservation form to select options for your visit or to make special requests.
CAN GROUPS SHOP/VISIT IN THE GIFT SHOP?
We encourage groups to visit and shop in the Museum Gift shop. We have a large range of items that vary in pricing, including t-shirts, trinkets, toys, books, stickers, Astronaut Food and so much more! The adult-to-child ratio is 1-to-5 at any one time. IS THERE A PLACE FOR MY GROUP TO EAT?
Vending machines and seating are available in the Visitor’s lounge; however no food or drinks are permitted in the museum gallery areas, Gift shop, Hangar, DC-3 Plane or the museum campus as a whole. Please preview page 2 of the Museum’s Group Reservation Form for off-site dining and picnicking locations nearby, including The Royal Coachman Food Court and Founder’s Plaza.

ARE LESSON PLANS AVAILABLE FOR GROUPS?

HOW CAN I SELECT A STEM WORKSHOP FOR MY GROUP?
Museum staff will collaborate with your group to determine a workshop that suits your needs. Workshop options can be viewed here. Complete the group reservation form by selecting the “STEM Education workshop” option and our Education Coordinator will contact your group directly.
WHAT ARE THE RATES FOR WORKSHOPS? Workshops are flat rated at $5 per person and include general museum admission. Those not participating in workshops (chaperones, teachers, siblings, etc.) will be charged the group admission rate of $3.00 per person. Note. All charges shall be paid in a single transaction. CAN GROUPS LARGER THAN 60 SCHEDULE A WORKSHOP?
To ensure optimal guest experience, the museum limits the number of workshop participants to 60/per day, however groups larger than 60 can book additional workshop dates, thus allowing all members to have an opportunity to participate.
HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER AT THE MUSEUM?
There are many ways to support the Museum! The American Airlines CR Smith Museum greatly appreciates donations and volunteers. We believe volunteers play a vital role to the enthusiastic support of the museum and our programs. Our volunteers have an opportunity to touch the lives of the community while expressing their passion for aviation. WHERE DOES THE MUSEUM GET ITS FINANCIAL SUPPORT?
American Airlines CR Smith Museum is a separate non-profit organization that depends on revenues derived from memberships, Giftshop, event rentals, ticket sales and donations to operate. Your gift to the museum is tax deductible under the IRS code to the extent allowed by law. You can make a gift for general operating purposes or contribute for a specific purpose if you wish. Any donation, whether great are small, is always appreciated. To make a donation, please contact the Museum’s Development Director at 817-967-5920. You may also support us online.
When can I have a birthday party at the American Airlines CR Smith Museum?
Parties at the CR Smith Museum can be scheduled on Saturdays at 10 a.m., or 1 p.m. The party duration is 2 hours.
What can I expect on the day of the party?
Please preview our Party Offerings Guide to find additional information on the process leading up to the event, what you can expect the day of your party as well as sample schedules geared to helping your party run smoothly.
How far in advance do I need to schedule a birthday party?
You may schedule as soon as you decide that you would like to host a party here, but you must schedule at least two weeks in advance. Because party dates can fill up, we advise that you schedule at least a month in advance.

What is the payment procedure for birthday parties?
At minimum, the deposit payment of $100 is due at the time of registration. We accept cash, credit or debit card. All remaining balances are due prior to departure on the scheduled party date.
Who is included in the 20 guests per party?
Everyone is included in the 20 guests allowed in the party area except children less than 24 months, museum members and employees who are free. The birthday child and birthday family, child guests and adult guests are all included. The maximum allowed for a birthday party is 40 people. This restriction is due to the size of the party room/area. If your party is going to exceed this maximum, a larger area at an additional fee can be arranged through our Events department. Please note; there is a $3 charge for each guest over the 20 included in the party package.
When can I get into the room/area?
Parent(s) can meet the party attendant 15 minutes before the scheduled start time for the party.
Can I bring my own food, snacks, beverages and/or order delivery?

What are the tablecloth measurements?
Rectangular tablecloths measure 54” x 108”. Tables seat up to 8 people.
Is there a refrigerator for me to store my food items?
No. We highly recommend bringing a cooler for items requiring refrigeration.
Can we stay in the party room/area after the party?
Museum parties run 2 hours. We do allow for a 10-minute clean-up and all party guests and belongings will be required to leave the designated party area at that time. Party goers will still have full museum access that day until the museum closes.
What if I need to cancel the party?
When you cancel more than 7 days before the party, we will refund the deposit amount. If you must cancel 7 or fewer days in advance, no refund will be provided.
